Known for its wide, beautiful beaches and a strip of hotels and restaurants, it’s a fantastic alternative that still provides easy access to the capital. This is one of the best places to stay, if you want beach, close to airport (Luis Muñoz Marin International airport) and not be in downtown San Juan. The airport is less than 5 minutes away, and San Juan is 20 minutes. This is the best area in my opinion because it gives you a nice beach and still easy access to the city.
Located on the award-winning Isla Verde Beach, the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel is a legendary icon of tropical luxury. This beachfront hotel is an excellent option for families, couples, and business travelers alike.
The resort features a beautiful freeform pool, a swim-up bar, hot tubs and plenty of lounge chairs for soaking up the sun. For those feeling lucky, there's a 24-hour casino on-site. Dining options include a casual poolside grill and an international buffet. The Courtyard delivers a full resort experience with the reliability and quality of the Marriott brand, making it a safe and exciting choice.
This is my favorite place to stay when in San Juan Puerto Rico. Yes, it is a 20-to-25-minute taxi ride to downtown San Juan, but it is very close to airport. And after flying in from an international flight, all I want to do it get to my hotel, and you will be there and checked in, in under 10 minutes. One time a had a little wait which you will read about in my blog, and on another occasion, I walked right up to desk in lobby and was checked in immediately.
