Choosing the Best Resort in Dominican Republic for Couples. What fits your needs.

The Dominican Republic is a mosaic of experiences. When picking your resort, think about what "romance" means to you.

  • Do you want non-stop action? Head to the mega-resorts in Punta Cana like the Hyatt Zilara or Excellence.

  • Are you seeking nature and quiet? Samaná is your best bet.

  • Is budget a priority? Look at Puerto Plata resorts like Iberostar Costa Dorada.

  • Do you want the VIP treatment? The Level at Meliá Caribe or Cayo Levantado will treat you like royalty.

Tips for a Seamless Getaway

  1. Book the "Club" Level: Whether it's "Preferred Club," "The Level," or "Diamond Club," the upgrade is almost always worth it for couples. You get private check-in, better booze, and quieter pools.

  2. Time it Right: May to June and September to November offer lower rates and fewer crowds (just keep an eye on the weather forecast).

  3. Leave the Resort: The DR has a rich culture. Go see the colonial zone in Santo Domingo, hike a mountain, or dance bachata at a local car wash (yes, really, they turn into dance clubs at night!).

Your romantic escape is waiting. Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary, a honeymoon, or just the fact that you survived another work week, the Dominican Republic is ready to welcome you with open arms and a cold drink. ¡Salud!
