Planning a Celebrity Cruise and wondering, "Are drinks included on Celebrity Cruises?" Understanding your beverage options can make all the difference in creating a seamless, indulgent cruise vacation where every sip is delightful. Whether you’re a casual coffee drinker, a wine aficionado, or a cocktail enthusiast, Celebrity Cruises offers plenty of choices to quench your thirst. From curated drink packages to à la carte delights, let's explore everything you need to know about drinks onboard.

Standard Drinks: What are the Drinks Included on Celebrity Cruises?

The Standard Drinks is your entry-level option and covers a variety of drinks, making it a crowd-pleaser for casual cruisers. These are included in your cruise fare. Usually it is best and easiest to find these at the buffet drink station or the spa café (on my ship the Reflection is located in the Solarium). Also if you are in the main restaurant or honestly any restaurant on board they can get you these options. Here’s what’s typically included:

  • Basic Coffees - Drip coffee, decaf coffee, black tea, and herbal options in designated areas.

  • As for coffee additions you will find milk, creamers (powder and liquid) and sugar to add to your coffee.

  • Tea options: They usually have a few different types of tea bags to choose from for your hot tea options. They also have Iced Tea, but even if they have sweet tea pre-made and in dispensers, it will not be what sweet tea like many "Southerners" would like.

  • Fresh Juices like orange, apple, and cranberry.

  • Non-Premium Bottled Water to keep hydrated.

  • Flavored Water from the water dispenser in the buffet area, they also have a couple flavored waters to choose from.

  • Lemonade, which is my favorite on a Celebrity Cruise ship

These are drinks are not included, but you can order them and give the bartender, or waiter your cruise card and pay for them when you would like to order them,

  • Sodas (Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, etc.)

  • Premium Bottled Water (San Pellegrino, or regular bottled water)

  • Red Bull or other energy drinks

  • Craft and Domestic Beers (up to $7).

  • Mocktails and Cocktails

  • House wines by the glass (up to $9).

  • Standard cocktails with less expensive spirits (up to $10).

Room Service or Mini Bar....Are Drinks Free?

Most cruise lines charge for Room Service, so if you order room service and get a sprite, alcoholic drink or whatever you will be paying for it.  But Celebrity offers free breakfast room service for a few items from 6am to 11 am. If you have a suite, room service is complimentary all day and night. This can include your basic coffee, decaf coffee, milk and orange juice. This is a nice option. I love having coffee when I wake up, especially if I have a balcony room. I will place an order and just sit out there on my balcony and drink coffee. That is life for me.

If you order room service and not in the suite or Aqua Class (beyond just the limited breakfast items) be expected to pay a $9.95 charge and 18% gratuity.  Plus even if you have the classic or premium drink package, this does not mean you can order alcoholic drinks for free with room service.

Whatever type of room or class, (except Sky Suites or Retreat Suites) mini bar drinks in your cabin are not free. There is a pricing guide in your cabin that will let you know the price, and your room steward can replace what you have enjoyed daily.

Celebrity Drink Package

There are 3 types of drink packages on Celebrity Cruise line and prices do vary quite a bit on all 3, and even when you buy the packages. Plus, if you were not sure. The Royal Caribbean private island, Celebrity cruise ships use it too, these drink packages work on the island too. This makes for a Perfect day at Coco Cay.

  • Non Alcoholic Drink Package- Usually $45 per person before gratuities, making the total somewhere around $54 per person. Allows you to enjoy sodas, red bull and sparkling waters. Plus smoothies from the Spa Cafe, specialty coffees from Cafe al Bacio, Organic Teas. and bottle of water. Vitamin Water was something that was included on my last cruise, that I was shocked to see in this package.

  • Classic Beverage Package- Usually $89 per person before gratuities, making the total somewhere around $108 will let you enjoy mocktails, and mocktails up to $10 each, also beer and wine that were up to $10 each. Plus, all the drinks in the Non Alcoholic drink package. The included liquors, beers and wines are usually the lower grade drinks. For example, you will be able to get a Bud Light, but maybe a Blue Moon. Wines by the bottle are discounted by 15%

  • Premium Beverage Package- Usually around $105 per person before gratuities, making the total somewhere around $126 per person. If high quality drinks are what you want, this is what you need. If you order tequila, you could get Patron with this package. Plus, wine bottles are discounted 20% with this package.

Just remember this is based on 2 people per room, so if one person in the room wants a package the other must get a package also. I have seen though, for example. One person got the Classic package and the other person in the cabin who did not drink at all was allowed to just buy the Non Alcoholic Drink Package. This can happen when a travel partner is a recovering alcoholic, has a medical issue or illness that will not allow them to drink or because one person is pregnant. Work with a travel agent to make sure this happens if you fit into this category.

Also, guests of legal drinking age are only able to buy the packages. As for drinking on a cruise it can vary. US cruises the age is 21, but European cruises where the legal drinking age is lower, an 18 to 20-year-old can drink. Parents will need to sign a consent form though.

Classic Drink Package

Here is what you can get with the Classic Package

  • Sodas (Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, etc.)

  • Premium Bottled Water (San Pellegrino, or regular bottled water)

  • Red Bull or other energy drinks

  • Craft and Domestic Beers (up to $7).

  • Mocktails and Cocktails

  • House wines by the glass (up to $9).

  • Standard cocktails with less expensive spirits (up to $10).

Each cruise can have slightly different prices, depending on a variety of reasons (More on that later). While it covers the basics, premium upgrades or à la carte purchases are sometimes necessary for those wanting something more upscale. There is always a different drink of the day, it is usually a cocktail or frozen drink. These are always included in the Classic Drink Package price and are in my opinion the best drink to have if you like fruity, island style drinks.

If you enjoy a few beers by the pool, a glass of wine at dinner, and some soft drinks throughout the day—but don’t need specialty cocktails or high-end wines—this could be the package for you. It offers good value for the occasional drinker.

Premium Package: Sip in Style

For those seeking the ultimate beverage experience, the Premium Drinks Package elevates your sipping game. Here’s what you’ll get:

  • Everything included in the Classic Package.

  • Specialty Coffees from espresso drinks to lattes at onboard coffee shops.

  • Premium Cocktails featuring high-end spirits (up to $15 per drink).

  • A wider selection of wines by the glass (up to $14).

  • A more expansive range of craft & international beers (up to $10).

  • Premium bottled water (such as Evian or Perrier).

Why Choose Premium?

The Premium Drink Package is generally the most expensive. This is perfect for cruisers looking to splurge on quality and variety. If espresso martinis at the Martini Bar are your go-to or you love exploring different wines, this package ensures you’re indulging in luxury. It’s also excellent if you enjoy specialty coffee or high-end water that’s not included in the Classic Package.

À la Carte Options for Ultimate Flexibility

Don’t want to commit to a package? No problem. Celebrity Cruises offers à la carte beverages, which means you can purchase drinks individually:

  • Cocktails range between $10 and $15.

  • Wines by the glass are priced around $9 to $14.

  • Beers typically cost $7 to $9.

  • Specialty Coffees range from $4 to $7.

This is a great option if you’re not a heavy drinker and prefer occasionally splurging without the daily cost of a drink package.

Pro Tip: Check out less-advertised spots like the Sunset Bar, where you can often find unique handcrafted cocktails that stand out from the usual options.

Specialty Coffee
Specialty Coffee

Is Specialty Coffee Included?

Need your caffeine fix beyond regular drip coffee? Here’s the scoop:

  • Basic, drip coffee is included in both packages or available at no charge in designated areas.

  • Specialty coffee or premium coffees (think lattes, cappuccinos, and premium espressos) is included in the Non-Alcoholic Package, Classic Package and Premium Drinks Package.

  • Specialty coffee prices usually range from $7 to $10 if purchased à la carte.

Celebrity has a cute little coffee bar with tables and chairs, Cafe al Bacio. You can even get some yummy sweets located in the same area. If you’re a daily latte drinker, investing in a package that fits your lifestyle, it can save you money while keeping your coffee cravings satisfied.

When to Buy could save you money.

Most commonly the best time to buy a drink package if interested is when you book your cruise. That is usually the best price. While you are booking it will offer a Classic Drinks Package with basic wi-fi. This is a very good price usually, and you typically will not be able to beat this price if you go back online at a later date and try to add it on. But there is one exception. Black Friday Pricing. Celebrity Cruise lines sometimes will offer deals on their cruise drink package. This works out great and is the best value usually if you have not bought the package already. This is a gamble, since from year to year, you do not actually know what Celebrity cruise line will offer as a Black Friday Deal.

The worst time to buy is when you have already boarded the ship, on the first day of the cruise. This will guarantee the set price to be the most expensive. So if you do not buy your package at the time of booking, go back online and book it before your cruise to save you some money.

Pro Tips for Maximizing Your Drinks on Celebrity Cruises

There is not a daily limit on Celebrity Cruise lines. To make the most out of your beverage cruise experience onboard, here are some useful tips:

  • Time Your Drinks: Spread your beverages throughout the day to maximize value and enjoy the experience fully. You do not want to get sauced to early in the day

  • Order your drinks one at a time: Packages only allow for this, you can not order 2 at a time with a package.

  • Experiment Liberally: Use the drinks package to sample unique cocktails, wines, or beers you might not ordinarily buy.

  • Try Happy Hours: Celebrity sometimes offers discounted drinks during specific times, even for package holders.

  • Hydrate Often: Stay refreshed between drinks by using your package for bottled water or grabbing complimentary water with meals.

  • Check Out Wine Tastings: These are a great way to explore and discover new favorites before purchasing a glass or bottle.

  • Share Thoughtfully (If Allowed): Policies vary, but always ask if you can share drinks, like a bottle of wine at dinner.

Are you ditching the drinks package altogether? Consider bringing your own reusable water bottle. You can fill it at the buffet drink station with water, tea, or lemonade, ensuring you stay hydrated at no extra cost. I do this now on every cruise line. The water in your cabin bathroom is filtered, so I just fill up my water bottle in the sink and carry it with me. Sometime during the day, I will go to the buffet area and get flavored water or lemonade and pour it in my reusable bottle for something different to drink.

Can You Bring Drinks Onboard?

Thinking about carrying your own beverages? Here’s what you need to know:

  • Alcohol: Celebrity Cruises allows passengers to bring a maximum of two (750ml) bottles of wine per stateroom. If these are consumed in your stateroom, there’s no added fee. However, if you choose to drink them in public areas like the dining room or bar, expect a corkage fee of $25 per bottle.

  • Non-Alcoholic Beverages: Large quantities of bottled soda or water are generally not permitted, but small amounts for personal use are usually allowed. Always double-check policies before packing. Do not pack in checked luggage, it must be brought on in your carry on. Usually, it is a 12 pack per person. This can only happen on embarkation day.

Unlike cruise lines such as Carnival, Celebrity has a stricter policy for bringing your own drinks. Managing expectations is key, so plan accordingly. Also do not try to sneak alcohol onboard. I have known people have done this and gotten away with it, but it is not worth it, as it most of the time it will be confiscated and disposed of.
